Mission
Our mission is to provide you with the best quality soap products available on the market -- a unique blend of natural handmade products using the purest ingredients possible at the best price. We use certified organic essential oils and natural colorants, including herbs and spices home grown from the beautiful finger lakes region where we live. We are very aware of our planet and the need to protect the animals and plant life surrounding us. In particular, we are committed to protecting our beautiful regional lakes and to raising awareness that the lakes in their natural state will not be around forever.
Our natural products are biodegradable, cruelty free and minimally packaged. We do not use preservatives, petroleum products, FD&C colorants or dyes, parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl or laureth sulfates, antibacterial triclosan, TEA, or other harmful chemicals. Unlike other soap or bath and beauty companies, we do not conform to purchasing products from some parts of the world simply because they are less expensive.
About the Soapmaker
I live and work in a log cabin. I love to observe the wildlife in my backyard. There are 16 acres of wildlife habitat surrounding the cabin.
There was a time when I was too busy to enjoy life. I did not take the time to watch a hummingbird whiz into the feeder. Not anymore. The red-bellied woodpeckers, indigo buntings, grosbeaks and many other varietal local birds visit the backyard feeders regularly.
I love to bake and cook and have written some cookbooks, as well as have created new recipes for organic cakes, Italian pastries and chocolate confections using fair trade organic chocolate bases.
Thus, the segue into soapmaking. It was such a natural for me that my first batch of soap ever -- came out smelling, looking and feeling delicious. I've been doing it ever since.
We have recently opened a new location in Penfield, New York where you can visit us, sip organic coffee, eat pastries and watch the handmade soap being made and cut by viewing through two large windows that divide the café and soap company.

"I personally put my own stamp of approval on every product that goes out the door, being careful to strive for fair trade and sustainable business practices. I am committed to using recyclable products and paper bags for soaps instead of plastic, whenever possible. I avoid handing out business cards whenever possible, but you will find my contact information inked on a paper bag"
